Comment s\u2019obstiner pendant trente ans \u00e0 chercher de nouveaux sites, \u00e0 faire de nouveaux trous ? \u00c0 se dire que c\u2019est l\u00e0, quelque part sous la terre. Qu\u00e9mander les bourses, l\u2019argent de sa femme et de sa m\u00e8re, quitte \u00e0 faire de sa famille une arm\u00e9e au service de la cause. Dans le monde de la recherche, dix ans de travaux c\u2019est encore la jeunesse du scientifique.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Mais vous avez pu commencer jeune. Regardez-nous aujourd\u2019hui, Dr Leackey. Nous ne commen\u00e7ons \u00e0 travailler qu\u2019\u00e0 trente ans. Nous vivons dans un monde pour lequel on ne nous avait pas pr\u00e9par\u00e9. On nous avait dit : telle \u00e9cole, tel dipl\u00f4me, pour devenir ceci ou cela. Mais tout ce qui travaille sur l\u2019humain dans ce temps long, s\u2019essouffle aujourd\u2019hui. Les reportages de longue haleine, les recherches en sciences humaines, les artistes voyageurs. Quand ceux qui ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 en faire leur vie m\u2019accordent un caf\u00e9, ils me disent : \u00ab Quand j\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 c\u2019\u00e9tait bien diff\u00e9rent, aujourd\u2019hui on n\u2019embauche plus. \u00bb Ils tardent \u00e0 partir \u00e0 la retraite et ne seront pas remplac\u00e9s. Ils nous parlent d\u2019un temps que les moins de trente ans\u2026 payent le caf\u00e9 et nous souhaitent bonne chance.
